100% Otero, a local grassroots nonprofit dedicated to eliminating childhood trauma in Otero County, invites the community to attend a community forum and training on preventing childhood trauma. The event is free for participants and will be held Thursday, February 16, 2023 at the Willie Estrada Civic Center, 800 East 1st Street, Alamogordo, New Mexico.
The morning session will be held from 8:30 am until noon. 100% Otero team members and those interested in the 100% Otero initiative and preventing childhood trauma will gather to network and teambuild. A keynote speaker from the Anna Age Eight Institute/100% New Mexico will be on hand to let the group know how local efforts are combining with those in other parts of New Mexico to help children and families.
Lunch will be provided by 100% Otero and the Anna Age Eight Institute.
The afternoon training session, from 1-5 pm, will feature Donna Lucero, MA, LPCC. Lucero is the Clinical Director at All Faith Children’s Advocacy Center in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Afternoon participants will learn how to use a trauma informed lens to guide interventions, responses and support.
